Eureka! runs regular Home Educator Days (they say at least once per term) when no other educational groups are booked, giving families quieter access to the museum plus workshops, demonstrations and themed activities just for home-educator families. You can also visit outside these days and use downloadable gallery guides; sign up to their Home Educator mailing list for event news.
