The museum runs Big Friendly Home Education Days exclusively for home-educated families with a mix of facilitated workshops, sensory storytelling, talks in the Writing Hut, gallery challenges and self‑led exploration. The museum is open 10:00–15:30 on these days (last entry 14:00); activities are aimed at age 5 and above and some workshops have a small fee. Bookings are made via the museum’s Home Education booking link on the site.
